what's you "why"?

what's you WHY when it comes to exercise?

Getting to the WHY is everything when it comes to building the foundation for setting goals when working together with patients and clients. So what is it for you? Do you find that taking the time to move helps you connect to your physical body? Does sweating help you release energy and feel more energized to feel like your best you? Maybe you want to feel capable of holding your baby, lifting your own suitcase, or just be able to get back to or continue doing the things that make you feel alive.

On a personal level, it is what keeps me going in my own fitness journey. For me, as much as I am competitive and like to push my limits, ultimately, training is a way to build strength outside (in the physical body) in order to fire up my inner strength. That’s my why and it keeps me coming back for more again and again.

My advise? Know that getting started can be the hardest part and bite size movement snacks are worth it! It doesn’t have to be all-or-nothing to be meaningful for you. Just think… 5 minutes a day adds up to 30 hours a year. Come back to your very own “why”. Find a way to define this clearly for yourself so you know exactly what you’re sweating for and find accountability buddies that will help you stay the course. Make sure you share this with your trainer, coach, partner, or bestie so that they can cheer you on.
